Shona Glenn

Shona is BiGGAR Economics’ Development Director, an economist with 20 years experience in economic development spanning the public and private sectors. She first joined BiGGAR Economics in 2009 before leaving in 2017 to lead the policy and research function of the (then) newly established Scottish Land Commission. She then returned to BiGGAR Economics in 2021 to lead our work on wellbeing.

She is particularly interested in alternative approaches to measuring societal progress and the role of place making, preventative health care and community empowerment as tools for achieving it. Her approach is holistic and collaborative with a focus on helping clients explain their social and economic contribution and work out how to increase it.
