The University of Gloucestershire announced in March 2021 that it had purchased the Debenhams building. This will accommodate ambitious plans for growth in teaching and learning, and provide a major boost to regeneration and post-Covid recovery in the historic centre of the city of Gloucester.
BiGGAR Economics was commissioned by the University to assess the economic impact that could arise from its redevelopment of the acquired Debenhams building into a new university campus. It also considered the role the redevelopment could play in the ##LevelUpGloucester bid.
