We are delighted to announce that BiGGAR Economics has become an employee-owned company.
The shares in BiGGAR Economics are now owned by an Employee Ownership Trust, which has been established to act in the interests of current and future employees of the company.

The operational management of the company will continue to be the responsibility of the leadership team and therefore nothing will change from the perspective of clients, suppliers and others that we work closely with.
Four new Board members have been appointed: Aiysha Sarwar, Lynne Raventos, Shona Glenn and Simon Cleary. Between them, they have worked for BiGGAR Economics for 45 years. They will work alongside company founder Graeme Blackett, setting the strategy for the business and ensuring that all aspects of our operations continue to develop and improve.
The Employee Ownership Trust will have oversight and must approve any significant changes to the company, such as its purpose, ownership and location of headquarters. Two employees, Jordan Hunter and Joanna Galbraith have been elected as employee trustees by their colleagues and are joined by founder Graeme Blackett and independent trustee Colin Burnett, formerly of the Moredun Group.

Graeme Blackett, who will continue to be Managing Director, said:
“Since I founded BiGGAR Economics in 2002, I have always been motivated by having a positive impact on the economy and society. BiGGAR Economics exists to ‘deliver meaningful impact’ and this move to employee ownership will mean that we will continue to be a purpose-led company. This purpose guides all of the decisions we make, from deciding which opportunities to pursue to recruiting new members of the team. I am delighted that what makes BiGGAR Economics different has been written into our ownership and governance model.“
“I would like to thank all of my colleagues for the enthusiasm with which they have embraced the idea of employee ownership. I would also like to thank Louise Fisher and Alex Mundie of Baxendale Employee Ownership for their invaluable advice and support.”
